CT scanning or Computed Tomography analysis
The study and interpretation of cores and plugs’ CT scan images is one of most important methods in core analysis which could be related to both reservoir geological and engineering studies. In plug scale, CT scan results are used to detection of probable heterogeneities and fractures in order to sample screening for special core analysis (SCAL). In order to study of geological features, heterogeneities and sedimentary structures in whole core scale, the CT scanning is done on core scale. High-resolution CT scanning using software leads to surveying of large pore distribution.
The CT scan study part of MAPSA Co. has all those capabilities to do all needed tacks on recovered cores and plugs from hydrocarbon fields. The main steps of this study are as follows:
CT scan imaging
Image analysis of CT images using software and calculation of parameters
Interpretation of data and results
